Preventing Family Violence in African Australian Communities
The safety and well-being of families form the cornerstone of a thriving community. Recognizing the serious impact of family violence, African Australian Network Alliance Limited is committed to delivering prevention strategies, support services, and pathways to healing. We believe every African Australian family deserves to live in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.

Our Commitment to Ending Domestic Violence
Recognizing that domestic violence prevention is a national priority in the Commonwealth of Australia, it's essential to understand that intersectionality is not simply about identity—it is a framework for uncovering hidden power dynamics and the ways in which they produce inequality. It examines how systems of oppression—such as racism, sexism, classism, and others—interlock and impact individuals in complex, overlapping ways.
When leaders are supported by those who genuinely care about humanity and who take the time to understand the lived experiences of individuals who belong to multiple social groups, they gain deeper insight into how these oppressions are interconnected. This awareness reveals that such issues cannot be addressed in isolation.
Reducing family violence requires systemic inclusion—removing the structural barriers that prevent people from accessing the support, services, or opportunities they need. Whether it's gaining access to a service, securing meaningful employment, or creating safer workplaces, inclusion is central to lasting change.
Establishing a Community Patrol
Our organisation has established a Neighborhood Watch and community patrol initiative in collaboration with local police to help prevent domestic violence. We encourage residents to keep streets and homes well-lit and to support neighbourhood youth by providing positive outlets such as organised recreation, tutoring, part-time employment, and volunteer opportunities. With the involvement of dedicated citizens—especially fellow Australians—we aim to eliminate violence and strengthen community support services for African Australians.

Takes a Stand Against Family Violence
Volunteer and fundraise for women's emergency shelters and related agencies. Engage in community-driven awareness activities and initiatives

Reduce the Progression from Aggression to Violence
The control strategy is favored by policymakers who view punishment as the most effective means to deter crime and safeguard society.

Health and community consequences
We urge an end to violence due to its severe health and social consequences. Violence causes countless deaths daily, especially among young men and boys.
